Designed by New York architect Bernhardt Muller for aviation pioneer Glenn Curtis, the Hurt building was created as an entrance feature on Opa-locka's main street. The town, envisioned as the Baghdad of Florida, has the largest collection of Moorish Revival buildings in the nation. Originally a hotel and commercial stores, the Hurt Building is one of the town's most prominent examples of this exotic style. Distinguished by its two minarets and large central dome, the building features an arched colonnade, and elaborate Moorish detailing. As general contractor, Keystone Restoration won a meritorious achievement award from the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation in 1992.Award Winner

Constructed in 1908 to support the workmen building Henry Flagler's engineering marvel, the Overseas Railway from Miami to Key West. Pigeon Key's eight wooden cottages are some of the railroad's last remaining buildings. Designed in the local vernacular, or Conch Style, these wooden cottages are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Keystone Restoration served as general contractor to restore the exterior and interior of one of the complex's largest cottages. Our work included replacement of major elements including submerged pilings, fenestration, electrical, plumbing, wheelchair lift, sewage treatment plant, and other work.
