Constructed in 1908 to support the workmen building Henry Flagler’s engineering marvel, the Overseas Railway from Miami to Key West. Pigeon Key’s eight wooden cottages are some of the railroad’s last remaining buildings. Designed in the local vernacular, or Conch Style, these wooden cottages are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Keystone Restoration served as general contractor to restore the exterior and interior of one of the complex’s largest cottages. Our work included replacement of major elements including submerged pilings, fenestration, electrical, plumbing, wheelchair lift, sewage treatment plant, and other work.
